If you are looking for information about registering domain names, maybe you want to read our Domain Registration FAQ. Authoritative DNS ServersIf you have DNS service for your domain provided by JTAN, the following nameservers will be authoritative for your domain. You can use any of these for domain registration purposes.
ns.jtan.net 207.106.84.133
ns.jtan.com 207.106.84.141
ns0.webtrafix.net 207.106.84.187
ns1.webtrafix.net 207.106.6.3
All of the above servers have the same information, so you can use
whatever combination, in whatever order you want for primary and
secondary servers.
Caching DNS ServersThe above authoritative servers do not perform recursive lookups of general internet domain names. They may only be used for serving registered domains as authoritative servers. If you want a caching server that will do recursive lookups for your machine, you may use one of the following servers only if you are on the JTAN LAN. That means, if you have a dedicated server hosted here, you may use the following servers in your /etc/resolv.conf file. Please pick a nameserver cache that is on your subnet: 207.106.84.59 207.106.84.142 207.106.84.147 207.106.84.175 207.106.84.226 207.106.6.4 207.106.6.5 206.135.79.2If, however, you are outside our network --- for example, if you have DSL or cable and need a nameserver for your PC configuration -- you must use the nameserver provided by your DSL or cable provider. Our caching servers cannot be accessed from your PC. If you use linex.com dialup modem access, you should configure your PC to accept nameservers automatically through the PPP negotiation process. You should not specify nameservers by number. The automatic process will automatically give you the nearest caching DNS server to you. | |||
